The parade of second quarter earnings results for publicly traded broadcast radio ownership groups has begun, and for the Bill Wilson-helmed "Local First" company with a strong digital revenue engine, Q2 was one that exceeded investor expectations.

Brendan Carr on Tuesday joined President Trump and members of his cabinet at the signing of a new Executive Order establishing the White House Task Force on the 2028 Summer Olympics.  The order names Carr to the Task Force and charges him with helping to plan, organize, and execute events surrounding the LA28 Games.

It already operates four stations serving Twin Falls, Idaho, offering a mix of programming that includes Mediaco's Estrella TV, Weigel Broadcasting's MeTV Network, and the NBCUniversal Hispanic Enterprises TelExitos digital multicast network. Soon, that group of properties will grow to a six-pack.

The Commission has voted to launch a review of its system for collecting data on network outages and restoration during major disasters. "This action will pave the way for reforms to the Commission’s Disaster Information Reporting System (DIRS) to make sure that its benefits outweigh its burdens," the FCC says.

That's what Lachlan Murdoch, FOX Corporation's Executive Chair and CEO, shared on Tuesday.

Salem Media Group has entered into a third amendment to a loan and security agreement with Siena Lending Group LLC. It's designed to bring more cash to the fiscally fragile parent of Christian-themed and conservative News/Talk audio and video programming.
