Avant Radio Fest 2026

As fellow radio makers, producers, engineers, volunteers, managers, etc, you know how important radio is as a tool to provide our communities with vital information. But radio is also a unique medium that can provide listeners and radio-makers with moments of connection, joy, surprise, and magic! Radio can challenge the listener and expand their definitions of art and communication, offering just as vital opportunities for discovery. The purpose of the Avant Radio Fest is to dive in and celebrate the creative and experimental side of radio!

The Avant Radio Fest will:

  • highlight the possibilities and experimental potentials of radio and the ways that creativity can serve our communities and listenership
  • offer a weekend of panels, performances, workshops, and dedicated time for gathering
  • foster community and connection amongst FM, LPFM, and internet stations across the East Coast. Station staff, board members, hosts, and volunteers are all invited

Our hope is to have participation from the most full-power, low-power, and internet stations east of the Mississippi as possible, though all are welcome.
