Civic Media has struck an agreement with J&J Broadcasting, headquartered in Iron River, Wisc. Interestingly, the purchase will be completed by the newly formed Michigan Civic Media Alliance — led by Civic Media with additional support and investment from the Michigan Independent Media Group (MIMG).

At the start of 2024, he became Times-Shamrock Communications CEO. Before that, he served as COO of 7 Mountains Media; as President/CEO of WBEB-FM in Philadelphia under the ownership of Jerry Lee; and in a previous tenure spent nine years as Times-Shamrock's COO. As of today, he is now retired.

A Tennessee not-for-profit religious corporation has agreed to sell a low-power television station licensed to the largest city in California's Central Valley to an individual with a rich history in Golden State broadcasting and a desire to operate the mini facility.

Ravi Kapur has proven to be an active buyer of low-power television stations in recent years. Now, his Major Market Broadcasting is in purchase mode once again, as it is agreeing to acquire a property in North Dakota from none other than the man behind Lowcountry 34 Media.

For nearly 13 years, he advocated for broadcast television and radio as a member of the NAB's Media Relations and Communications corps. Since the start of 2024, he has been aligned with ACA Connects. Now, he's penned an opinion piece that posits the cable TV industry against a rewrite of the FCC's media ownership rules.
